I was confused when confirming the arrival of the tmc2209, they have not arrived yet.

It arrived very quickly. The reduction of noise compared to the A4988 is huge. Now I can use my CNC at night without bothering my neighbors. I had already placed a silent spindle, but the CNC kept making a lot of noise.

Ok, you need to change the firmware in the printer and reverse some plugs from step engines.

Works over uart, needs a 1 k resistor on the micro controller to driver tx line for bi directional communication.
A tmc2209 controller i bought from another store did not work with uart.

The product arrived sealed but it seems to have been crushed during the journey. All the packaging bags came with holes from the driver pins, and one of the 6 units came with crushed pins as shown in the photo.

These worked perfectly. The current sense resistors are 100mr not the 110mr you usually expect – so make adjustments in the vref calculation.
I used them on a flashforge cp2, with the pins moved to the opposite side. I had to remove some pins due to how flashforge drive the vref from the main board.
